RANTS AND RAVES FOR DECEMBER:
RANT - I always hear about how hectic the holiday season is. Yet, everyone says they LOVE this time of the year. C'mon... which is it? Hate the shopping mall crowds? DON'T SHOP! Traffic makes you crazy? STAY HOME WITH FAMILY! In short, remembering the REASON for Christmas is the ONLY way you'll enjoy the holidays.
RAVE - Kudos to all who give to their local food banks. This is a hard time for many (me included) and the gift of food makes a hard time go down a little easier. Although I could say something snarky about the rest of the year, now is the time to give if you have not done so already. On behalf of recipients served, Thank You!
RAVE - President Obama's health reform reportedly will force Domino's Pizza to list more than 300,000 calorie counts on their menus to comply with nutrition information mandates. If Obama wanted to do it one better, I say make them list what's EXACTLY in their crust and toppings, too. (You'd be surprised!)
RANT - COX CABLE is comprised of a.) morons b.) idiots c.) jerks... Trick question. All 3. I had to start service with them for the first time and it was a unfunny joke from the fist phone call to the last installer mistake. More than 2 hours on the phone. 6 hours of install and 5 order mistakes add up to 1 pissed off customer. ME.
RAVE - There is a small market up the block from me called WARD'S. A little larger than a 7-11, this store boasts local goods, farmer produce and excellent smoked meats they cook right in the parking lot. Prices are a little higher than Publix, but there are good values to be found at times. The staff is great too. Support YOUR local businesses like WARD'S.
RANT - Checker's new cheesecake-filled ice cream waffle cone. Really...? On top of the burgers, cheese fries and fake chicken nuggets? If I sat down and ate a tub of Crisco, it would have a better impact on my health.
